ORCHESTRE MINIATURE IN THE PARK
Das Orchestre Miniature in the Park besteht aus ungefähr 30 Menschen, die auf kleinen Instrumenten musizieren und mit 'bunt' wahrlich sehr farblos beschrieben wären. Seit 2007 erspielen sie sich an allen denkbaren und undenkbaren Orten die Herzen der Menschen mit Liedern über die Sonne, Psychopharmaka, Liebeskummer, und vor allem über den Sommer.
Das OMP ist das erste und einzige bunte Miniaturinstrumenteorchester der Welt. Dreißig Menschen von überall machen Alternative-Pop auf Kinderinstrumenten.
The Orchestre Miniature in the Park consists of about 30 people, who play music with small instruments and it would be very colourless if they are described with 'colourful'. Since 2007 at all imaginable and unimaginable places the Orchestra affects the hearts of people with songs about the sun, psychotropic drugs, lovesickness, and first and foremost about the summer.
OMP is the first and only colourful Miniature-Instruments-Orchestra in the world. Thirty People from everywhere make Alternative-Pop with children instruments.
Bandgeschichte
Das Orchestre Miniature in the Park (auch OMP) wurde 2007 von Klaus Cornfield (Throw That Beat In The Garbagecan! / Katze) gegründet, um mit einfachen Mitteln in Parks Musik machen zu können. Seitdem ist die Besetzung stetig gewachsen und das Repertoire umfasst um die 35 Lieder, sowohl Eigenkompositionen als auch Cover.
Die Besetzung pro Konzert besteht aus 15 bis 35 Menschen. Es werden ca. 30 Konzerte pro Jahr in regelmäßigen Abständen gespielt, zumeist in Berlin. Sofern es das Wetter zulässt, finden die Konzerte Open Air statt. Im Winter werden Berliner Bars, Cafés, Trödelmärkte, Clubs etc. als Auftrittsorte genutzt.
Außerhalb Berlins tritt das Orchestre Miniature in the Park vor allem bei Festivals auf, darunter u.a. das Fusion Festival 2012, das Haldern Pop Festival 2013 sowie Lollapalooza 2015, und bestreitet kurze Tourneen in Europa, wo es bisher in Frankreich, Schweden, Dänemark, Österreich, Italien, Polen, den Niederlanden und der Schweiz unterwegs war. Zwischen 2010 und 2012 wurden zwei Tourfilme veröffentlicht. 2012 gab es außerdem Fernsehauftritte im RBB Sommergarten sowie mit Jonathan Jeremiah im ZDF Morgenmagazin.
2015 erschien das Debutalbum SONGS ABOUT THE SUN als CD, LP und Download auf dem Label 6:5 im Vertrieb bei Rough Trade Distribution. Es enthält 10 Eigenkompositionen sowie 3 Cover.
Band History
The Orchestre Miniature in the Park (in short: OMP) was in 2007 by Klaus Cornfield (Throw That Beat In The Garbagecan! / Katze), with the purpose to play music in parks with easy to handle instruments. Since then the lineup steadily grows, and the repertoire spans about 35 songs, including both originals and cover songs.
The lineup for a concert consists of 15 to 35 musicians. There are about 30 concerts per year in regular intervals, mostly in Berlin. If the weather allows, the concerts are Open Air. In Winter the Orchestra plays in Bars, in Clubs, at Markets etc.
Outside of Berlin Orchestre Miniature in the Parks usually plays at Festivals, for instance at Fusion 2012, Haldern Pop Festival 2013 and Lollapalooza 2015, and goes on Tour through Europe, where they already played in France, Sweden, Denmark, Austria, Italy, Poland, The Netherlands and Switzerland. Two Tour Films were filmed between 2010 and 2012. In 2012 OMP also appeared in regional and nationwide Television.
In 2015 the first Album SONGS ABOUT THE SUN was released as CD, LP and Download at the Label 6:5 via Rough Trade Distribution. It contains ten original songs and three cover songs.
